Driverless vehicles ideas r like Robot stories of the 1980s. Why don't we have robots in our homes cooking paellas and looking after the vacuuming? Because Human IT is not good enough and if it was, it would be too expensive. Same with driverless cars. Some light rail now runs without drivers but so many signals passed at danger (SPAD)s means that there is not even a driverless train on any network. The Subway in New York, Tube in London, MTR/MRT in Singapore/ HK, none of it driverless. With labor rates so high, if you can't have a driverless train, how far away r we from driverless cars? 100 years, 1000 years?
