They need to change the technology platform and scale up, the Blue Gen was always too lightweight and really only a gas powered low current backup for a power failure. Whether they liked it or not it lacked independence of domestic solar panels, lacked government support and widespread market appeal in the market they attempted to address.
If they could have got to this type of scale (www.capstoneturbine.com) with something like LNG then perhaps they could have survived. Secondly they never really stepped up to a range of markets with a concerted marketing efforts and failed to have a product development platform.
A pity as the basic concept, as it came out from the CSIRO ages ago, was initially quite clever. It has just been surpassed by other technologies and in the heavier more isolated power demand markets they had no product to compete with diesel generators.
