They will probably offer them $10-15m above the NST bid which will lead to another higher bid by NST. I doubt that MLX will then make a superior offer and NST will finally get the asset but at a much higher price then currently agreed. I think that is the best pay back that MLX can do to their WA "friends".
In future whenever NST gets a deal going MLX will make a somewhat higher counter-offer which young Bobby the Goat will always raise.
