Been reading up on Codan and cant stop thinking about it since it showed up last week on the charts.
From my research it seems a buy.

They say it is the new HF Envoy smart radio and better margins that increased radio division profit.
Maybe the second generation HF Envoy is high growth, if it works and sounds like a smart phone - except one way -simplex, over 3000km and only 9600bits second data. So from the comments it seems people are impressed. It takes a while to get the word out on the ease of use and quality of digital voice, compared to the noisy analogue products of a few years ago.

The UHF VHF business from the old takeover Daniels (Canada market ) decreased due to Obama's less spending.

They are launching new solutions for UHF/VHF products. They say the future growth is in combining the HF long distance and shorter UHF/VHF networks. Could be a lot of demand for their Mray product. Maybe they sold plenty of those.
They don't have any handsets like Motorola. But they may be making some and going for some big tenders. They could provide total solutions, except they don't sell any UHF VHF mobiles or handsets. They could win more, police fire ambulance forestry etc. contracts around the world by providing total solutions.

3c div and the radio div regularly sells to government emergency services and military agencies in 150 countries. and the 4WD nomads etc. I see a lot of 4WDs with Codan antennaes. I havnt used the latest Codan but it seems like u can dial into a radio and out from a radio, to a cellphone or landline, and the voice is digital quality. Which is amazing for distances of a few thousand kilometres.

Emergency services can deploy a network anywhere without ongoing data charges. It has cost benefits compared to telecom infrastructure, except its simplex.

The perfect solution for grey nomads - buy the new Codan digital smart radio and the new Minelab detector and go anywhere and find gold where people couldn't find it.
