This means FLT will sell products whether it is their own or from another company....of course it will be better if FLT sells it's own products because of the margins.
FLT are going to come up with their own travel products (e.g. holiday packages that include air fares, accommodation, insurance etc). They will do their own negotiation with suppliers on getting products (e.g. hotels, flights etc) and then add margins onto them. They will then sell them within FLT or to other external travel companies, so effectively becoming a wholesaler and/or middleman.
The 'retailer' definition has been around for a little bit, maybe not publicly but definitely internally. The company is transforming into a retailer where it sells travel products.
There are a few strategies internally, one of them is that you can research and book your holiday on the FLT website and then go into any store and pay for it (or hopefully expand it).
Disclosure.....I work for FLT!
