What I am referring to, is no need for solar and wind in city and metro and big regional cities. As all the infrastructure was already in place. Power was cheap until the rebates for green energy and the grid was sold off to private enterprise.

Only isolated and country homes, hamlets, villages and small towns needed the green energy. As you or someone else said why run power poles for thousands of kilometres and big power structures around the country when it could all be solved or partly solved with solar, wind, sea energy etc etc. plus a number of diesel or green fuel generators. ( ie bio-mass waste turned into ethanol and oil and diesel)

Or better still build 4 nuclear power stations and have cheap power for the next 300 hundred years. ( the greenies and organic freaks will not like this idea but hey they make up about 2% of the population)
