Destra doubles net profit; positive outlook

Sydney - Tuesday - March 14: (RWE Australian Business News) -
Destra Corporation Ltd (ASX code: DES) lifted net profit attributable to
members 107.5 per cent to $470,000 in the December half from $230,000 a
year earlier.
Revenue rose 73.5 per cent to $12.08 million from $6.96 million.
Earnings before interest and tax fell 9.2 per cent to $510,000
from $570,000.
Expenses which adversely affected the December half and will not
recur in the June half include costs associated with the unsuccessful
Artist & Entertainment Group Ltd (ASX code: AEM) transaction.
The December half result was in line with expectations and
Destra remains on target to achieve earnings before interest and
tax of $1.2 million for the full year.
The positive operating cash-flow performance reflected
underlying profits, seasonal factors associated with the Christmas
trading period and favourable working capital movements.
Cash at bank minus short-term bank borrowings was $2.2 million
with total loan facilities approved to $3 million at the date of this
report.
Second-half earnings will be bolstered by a six-month
contribution from the Rajon group (acquired in December) and also
benefit from the increasing commercialisation of the company's Destra
Media assets through partnerships formed with Intel, 3 Mobile, Harvey
Norman and others.
The company has yet to pay a dividend.
