I too would like the legal dispute settled by speedy and early negotiation. The reality of such an event seems IMHO to be unlikely. My observation is based on the abrupt way TLU was barred from the drill site and the demand for a substantial increase in payment without full and open disclosure of why such extra costs came about. Also, and yes I add again, I could be completely wrong. But any legal defense of TLU’s right to information and site access might prove costly and take several years to resolve.
When it comes down to it, I look at the relative size of the two companies and the CMP JV partner’s previous commitment to use the legal system to defend its interests – and wonder which company has the funds, experience and time to protect their perceived position to the full extent of the law?
