News: Blaze International finds high grade gold-bismuth-copper at Barkly

Blaze International’s (ASX:BLZ) drilling has returned very high grade Tennant Creek-style gold-bismuth-copper mineralisation at the Bluebird deposit at its Barkly Project in the Northern Territory.

The company has the right to earn up to an 80% interest in the project from Meteoric Resources (ASX:MEI).

Notable results from the ongoing Phase II reverse circulation drilling program are:

- 31 metres at 2.48% copper, 0.21 grams per tonne gold and 0.03% bismuth from 116 metres including 12 metres at 4.41% copper, 0.23g/t gold and 0.02% bismuth from 125 metres and 1 metre at 11.5% copper, 1.44g/t gold and 0.04% bismuth from 142 metres;
- 11 metres at 0.98g/t gold, 0.68% copper and 0.03% bismuth from 77 metres including 2 metres at 3.54g/t gold, 0.25% copper and 0.06% bismuth from 77 metres.

Adding to the interest, these results are from the lowest priority holes while the five highest priority holes are yet to penetrate through to the high grade gold target position.

These holes will be completed by diamond drilling from the reverse circulation pre-collars. The first signs of significant primary copper sulphide mineralisation have been observed in diamond core.

Drilling has also identified a new footwall zone of mineralisation, increasing prospectivity.

Mineralisation remains open along strike and down dip while widths and grades continue to increase.

Phase II diamond drilling is scheduled for completion by late October with final assays expected by the third week of November.
 
The Bluebird deposit at Barkly comprises a 1.6 kilometre-long gravity ridge and is directly comparable with many of the orebodies in the Tennant Creek mineral field.
