The selling can continue as most stocks will be about to go ex dividend & prices will fall as a result.
Further selling should also be expected as a result of the A$ falling against the US$ which means funds will be withdrawn from Australia & not returned until the A$ looks to have bottomed.

Weakness in China will also weigh down on both the A$ & stocks.

This should give the opportunity for an excellent buying opportunity so keep your dividends & look to buy with any excessive weakness. October is historically a troublesome month for Australian stocks but it often gives great buying opportunities.
