Things won't "return to normal" any time soon if at all .

The 3 major parties have bribed Scottish voters into staying in the union with promises of greater powers and devolution , and increased financial subsidy (the Barnett Formula) .

The parties have no mandate for English and Welsh electorate for any of this .

The Scottish Nationalists smell blood and have lost a battle but are doing well in their war .

The English want their say . Historically only the English have referred to themselves as "British" . The Scots refer to themselves as Scottish instead .

The Union has been undermined - though I'd say more by London rather than Scotland .

The Westminster Govt doesn't really work for anybody outside London and London is pretty well a foreign principality like Monaco these days . London has anything between 8.5m and 14m people (excluding probably over a million illegal immigrants) depending on where you draw the boundaries . Scotland has less than 6m .

What a shambles .
