Some health issues are not well addressed in the 1 or 2 minutes a GP generally allows for a consult these days...
Also I would guess many of your long term issues are multi-modal/multi-symptom and so as most GP's will only address one issue during a consult you will ave quite lot of "back to the end of the queue" waiting until you get your 1 minute again...

The modern medical approach is usually just to treat the symptoms, and when you dont notice the symptoms any more and are alive for 5 years, that is classed as a cure for the medical community...

However it is often not seen or felt as a cure for the poor sucker who has been "medicalized" or turned into a lifelong customer for a variety of companies predating off him/her for the remainder of their lives...
