Let me get this straight.
In your opinion because DDT's products target theft and will logically achieve higher sales in higher-theft environments it's a bad thing and somehow immoral?
I guess I'm lucky to live in a low crime area, but if I wasn't I'd be thinking any product I could use to safeguard my possessions and those of my family and my business is a good thing and an investment worth making.
The last thing I'd be thinking is how the company selling me the anti-theft technology is acting in a somehow immoral manner because it relies on theft to remain a going concern.
In fact I'd take the opposite viewpoint, that if we didn't do anything about theft and just let it happen without either trying to prevent it or ensure we had a system in place to catch and punish the perpetrators, that would be immoral as we have a duty not only to ourselves but to each other as a society to do something about it and not be the silent majority who continually suffers from the law-breaking actions of the minority.
It would be great to live in a perfect world where there was no such thing as theft and where we wouldn't need the likes of DDT and the technology they bring to the table, but this is the real world, the one we actually live in, and unfortunately what you're talking about is a fantasy world we can only dream about.
I reject the notion that my investment in DDT could be construed by others in any way, shape or form as immoral. They've merely done what every other competent business has in the past and will continue to do in the future, see an opportunity, develop a product or service that targets that opportunity and then exploit it to the greatest extent possible. Immoral? Hardly!
