Have been following this case closely since the start. I am a farmer living in the same area as these two farmers and know them both reasonably well. Will declare that I don't grow GM but fully support the rights and reasons of farmers that chose to do so. Common sense in the end prevailed, would have been a tragedy for the farming fraternity if the decision went the other way. For me it was striking the anti GM supporters and other interests groups in support of Steve Marsh, and their total lack of facts during this process. Some of the statements made by the special interest groups were totally unsupported by science. Wether we like it or not GM technology will be a major contributor to farmers ability to feed the worlds growing population. Thankfully I am farming in a country that both farmers and government conduct their activities based on proven facts, otherwise we would be left behind.
