Leighton Holdings Limited's (ASX:LEI) Middle Eastern arm has won a $US300 million contract to construct pipelines in Doha in Qatar.
The engineering company’s 45 per cent owned Habtoor Leighton Group will carry out the work for Qatar’s General Electricity and Water Corporation.
The contract brings the total value of new project awards to HLG during the year to $US2 billion.
HLG CEO says the pipelines project is aligned with the company’s core capabilities.
Leighton Holdings repor ted a net profit of $469 million for the 2013 calendar year.
