re: Ann: SXA reports oil flow on Burkett 5-34...
Hi matyd
I presume your asking if I have it, yes.
IO has oil wells of his own and he's just confirming that this well is behaving as expected, apparently is very rare that an oil well flows of its own accord in the area. (even though were right on a 450 million barrel field)
He raises the possibility of the recovered oil being from a different formation than the lingle given that all of the unrecovered frac fluid must be in the bottom of the well therefore we possibly have multi payzones.
That accords with this snippet from company ann 15/08/2013
"During the drilling of the curve on the horizontal well, oil and gas shows were encountered in the New Albany Shale formation in addition to encountering oil and gas shows in the targeted Devonian Lingle formation"
(if he turns out to be correct on this were all going to be very happy campers indeed)
Also mentions that whilst the well is not flowing on its own it must have good pressure cause they have not gone for a pumpjack(nodding donkey) but a downhole submersible.
