    hi Arigold. it seems the indo goverment is actually promoting hedinging (fwds FX contracts, ect) - http://www.risk.net/asia-risk/feature/2305499/rupiah-volatility-drives-indonesia-derivatives-uptake

    I dont think its hard to put a proper hedging strategy in place. I have sold such strategies to large corporates and when a company comes out and blames the fluctuating currency (as apposed to a low or high but stable currency) then it flags to me poor market (FX) management. Although taking out fwds may be at a premium to the spot rate, its still worth it to minimise fluctuation.
