Results from new drill holes VDD – 520 ( comprising 17m @ 11.9 g/t Au )
and VDD - 519 ( comprising 36m @ 1.77 g/t Au) confirm Vein Zone
mineralisation continuing along strike
The Company is pleased to report the results from the 2 latest diamond drill holes
completed as part of the ongoing Phase 2 drilling program at Andean’s 100% owned
Cerro Negro gold project in southern Argentina.
Results from Diamond drill holes VDD – 520 and 519, drilled respectively 50m and
75m west of the recently reported holes VDD - 518 & 517, have confirmed the
continuity of mineralisation on Section 8625 E.
VDD – 520 returned a broad zone of high-grade gold mineralisation comprising 17m
@ 11.9g/t Au from 158m, (including 4m @ 33.83g/t Au from 161m). The intercept
confirms that high grade mineralisation continues along strike and down dip from
previously known zones. It supports previously-reported high grade mineralisation at
depth which includes the 36m @ 14.5 g/t Au from 151m in VDD-510, located 25m to
In addition, Diamond drill hole VDD-519, drilled from the same location as VDD- 520
but at a shallower angle, intercepted 36m @ 1.77 g/t Au from 111m, (including 1m @
30.7 g/t from 111m).
These latest results define what is interpreted as a broad and consistent area of
new mineralisation over an additional strike extent of 50-75 m west from earlier
Phase 2 drill results reported on 21 Dec 2005.
These results, taken in conjunction with the results of VDD- 517 (comprising 96m @
2.1g/t Au from 119m) and VDD-518 (comprising 100m @ 3.5 g/t Au from 111m,
including 41m @ 7.13 g/t Au), continue to extend and enhance the size and quality
of the gold resource being delineated at Vein Zone.
The planned 4000m Phase 2 drilling program is ongoing with approx. 1,500m of
diamond drilling now completed. The continued success of the Phase 2 drilling
program supports the Company’s belief that Vein Zone has the potential to host
a significant gold resource.
