Having a BLEND of oxide (near surface) ore from Croydon and fresh (deeper underground sulphide ) ore from Alliance may possibly improve mill through put and recoveries rather than solely Fresh ore being milled as:
Oxide ore is often but not always less hard so easier to crush /grind at the plant front end
Blended ore would possibly result in less silting in the CIL tanks (back end) and another positive side effect may be less wear on the ball mill liners
This is just conjecture by me one would really need confirmation from managment on the the above supposition
