Worth bearing in mind that EIT havnt sold their shares yet. There is only an option agreement in place that may well have a condition allowing EIT to accept a higher bid if one is made (up until 51% is secured).
I dont see Santos being interested. They dont need the gas, hence the production in the sales agreement is determined by the seller. If landbridge stuff it up then it is no real problem for them, they are not relying on the supply. Why would they want to take on the drilling risk for marginal benefit.
Time for New Hope to grow a pair and put some of the ridiculous cash stash they have to work....their own shareholders should be demanding they use it or give it back.
Good pointd made re the dodgy attempt to link the decision of the EIT trustees to the views of Clarke.
Chinese regulatory approvals required....wonder how that affects the timeline
