CRITERION can't often boast about doubling a company's share price overnight, but we'll claim responsibility for this one.
As mentioned in Saturday's column, Motopia houses CU2 Global, which has the global rights to systems that migrate Microsoft Access data to Microsoft's SQL (cloud) servers. An errant digit in the copy understated the vaunted savings. Motopia says a typical conversion can be done in roughly 170 hours at a cost of $65,000 -- not $658,000 as reported -- compared with $825,000 over 5000 hours using existing means. A mid-range conversion could cost as little as $10,000-$15,000.
Motopia shares doubled from the minimum allowable trading level, on volume of 40m shares. If it had not been for our typographical infelicity, would the shares have done even better?
