Now unable to Blame the Labor Party (as the constantly and always do),
I think that's a bit unfair and not accurate. Sure, they blamed a lot of the negatives on government legislation, but a lot of that is bureaucratic action that would be the same under any government. They included the carbon tax in this, and it is a fact that the carbon tax hit airlines very hard. I have not seen any criticism that was not justified.
Whatever way you slice it, REX is one of the best managed airlines in the world, and one of very few that have made consistent profits for a long time. They are right up there with Allegiant and Southwest in terms of business success.
It seems to be an Australian thing to knock the success stories. I see that the NSW state government has today announced an enquiry in to regional airlines. The prompting for this was a plethora of complaints about Qantas' performance to a NSW MP.
Rex is the Stephen Bradbury of Australia's airlines. And one of the best managed companies here.
