But Arvind Misra, managing director of ASX-listed India Resources Ltd ,which invests in Indian mining, said project delays were much worse in India and are forcing the country to import resources it could be producing at home.
Jeyakumar Janakraj, the chief executive of the biggest Indian investor in Australia, Adani Mining, said: "Every Indian company has projects (at home) waiting for approval with some waiting up to ten years.
"It's fundamentally a two-sided game we have to look at."
