What about this scenario happening ?

They reprocess the 20 something year old 2D seismic with the new processes but then announce in a couple of months that the results, while promising, are not that conclusive yet.

They subsequently announce that to be on the safe side they really need to do some 3D seismic tests over the areas of promise to see if they can improve the likelihood of success.

(In other words they have spent time and money reprocessing old data and have got to the point where they really need to run the most modern 3D seismic to get a really good idea of what is there. Hmmm! Why didn't they do that in the first place and save that time and money on old data.)

Oh I must be getting cynical. Back to dreaming about fairies and mystical creatures.
