just bumped into the NTM situation where compensation is sought for the ban on seabed mining related to NTM tenements.
some posts refer to the max sp around 2010? when the sp climbed past $1, though NTM received a pretty thorough speeding ticket for it....
Thing is though, at the time the seabed moratorium was imposed by the NT government in Mar 2012 NTM's sp had already fallen sub-10c. So it could be argued that the price fall due to the seabed mining ban was actually not that great?
though there probably will be a compensation package of some sort it is unlikely to be anywhere close to the huge sum suggested by some posters. Currently NTM has approx 100m FPO's. Its sp is around 4c, at the time of the ban it had already fallen from 16c in Oct 2011 to 0.045c in Feb 2012. So just how much market cap has NTM lost anyway due to the ban?...
seems to me that NTM sp was in trouble (some due to normal heritage issues) long before the seabed mining ban was imposed?
maybe not so big a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow after all?
happy to be corrected on any of the above.
