Slater and Gordon is a publicly listed company with a duty of continuous disclosure to the share market about information that may affect its share price.
Hedley Thomas has today reported in The Australian that Victoria Police have executed a Search Warrant on Slater and Gordon's premises and have seized and taken things from the company.
If that is so, Slater and Gordon will have been served with an "Occupier's Copy" of the Search Warrant. It will be a fascinating read.
A search warrant is only issued in Victoria if a Justice (usually a Magistrate) is satisfied by the evidence, on oath (or by sworn affidavit) of a police officer of the rank of Senior Sergeant or above that a warrant is justified in the circumstances.
