    There are currently 2 types of sellers of those stocks you are referring to Edgar.

    The "shorters", mostly professional and the "weak" retail investor with no nerve to hold on at the bottom.

    Frankly you are correct though, it is a casino. This is what the ASX has been allowed to be turned into.

    Go back 15 - 20 years and you never saw these type of shenanigans being played, stocks being manipulated at will.
