If there is water,it indicates the porosity of the coal and that agood thing. Good engineers will know how to interpret this into an expected gas flow. Water extraction can take 0-6 months,but flow gas flow increase dramatically.
One prefers not to have excess water but in the end it is not a problem,even a benefit (gas has been contained).
