Mineral exploration company Trafford Resources says it's made a significant discovery of tin near Kimba on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula.
The discovery comes from drilling for iron ore and follows other discoveries in the area, including silver and graphite.
Trafford's managing director Ian Finch says the tin has been found at exciting levels of more than 3 per cent.
He says the region is like an "Aladdin's Cave" when it comes to minerals.
"We're seeing a plethora of different minerals, which is due to what we would call the heat engine or the granites, which are driving all this underneath the area," he said.
"They're not operating now, they operated in the past - but that's why we get a good range of different minerals."
