Can't answer your question about Nokia and Samsung Wild Bill but hope the following assists with the rest of your query.

The demand for tin is quite steady, and is growing at about 5% a year.

Above half of the world’s tin goes into solder and is used for joining wires to circuit boards. The cell phones that we use consume about 8 grams of tin, for example. Televisions, computers, microwave ovens; or anything from home appliance to business machine - if it’s got a circuit-board in it, be assured it contains tin. Solder is also used to put a thin coat on the surface of the traces (flat wires) on the PC board.

Tin can make lithium ion batteries last more than 3 times longer. Such batteries are used in mobile phones, camera, ipads and other mobile devices.

Plate glass is made by floating molten glass on to a bed of molten tin.

Nippon Steel has launched a new stainless steel using tin rather than nickel and less chromium. This steel is more corrosion resistant and more formable.

Tin can save up to 10% of fuel use in vehicles, generators and ship motors. A small amount in the fuel line acts as a catalyst. How it works is still not yet understood.

Tin mixed with copper makes bronze, which has a wide range of uses in today’s world; sculptures and ornaments, ship propellers, bearings, clips, electrical connectors, springs, guitar and piano strings and durable tools to name a few.

The chemical industry is a fast growing consumer of tin. Demand is strong for household and industrial paints, in plastics, brake pads, water treatment (corrosion inhibition) applications and in non-ferrous alloys for use in engineering industries. More potential growth areas for tin chemicals were cited as fire retardants, antimicrobials - which can be disinfectants or other products used to kill microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and protozoans - and dental products, as tin fluoride is already being used as an additive in toothpaste.
