The modified burette only came into play late last year and is an upgrade to the previous model. It has all of the valve and pump controls combined on top that allows for easy selection of flow and rates. I understand the standard burettes have several different combinations. This will make it even easier for nurses, but the current one is still far superior.
There is plenty of information available on this.
There is a nurses statement along the lines of it is such an effective product and so simple, she doesn't know why all hospitals aren't using it - this is in one of their reports and refers to the pre-upgrade version.
Therefore, there is no excuse for MLA's poor performance domestically as they have had years to perform and I believe this is reflected in their share pice and quarterly. I have for long said they are too small and likely do not have instantaneous distribution channels for burettes -for example a Baxter would just roll it out nationwide because they already supply burretes to several thousand hospitals whereas MLA have to sales pitch to get it in.
This is why I am very glad to see specialist consultants such as South South partners appointed who may come from more of a financial background, know the right parties and head contacts and are driven - they moved very quickly on Brazil from the first mention we received about it to securing the LOI to now trials. The 1 deal could be worth several fold MLA's total efforts over the years and in less than 6 months.
Would have been nice to have 5 or 10 hospitals domestically by now but I think they know MLA's 1 by 1 method will not be a company maker and hence why they are going for it internationally.
