Leighton Holdings Limited (ASX:LEI) subsidiary Leighton Contractors has won the Elizabeth Quay inlet development contract in Perth worth about $200 million.
The project forms part of the Perth state government’s initiative to enhance and develop the city into a globally competitive destination.
Works include the construction of a new inlet with associated roads, parks and promenades.
A workforce of up to 600 workers will be required on the project, which is expected to commence early next year with a scheduled completion date of mid-2015.
Leighton Holdings recorded a net profit of $106 million in the 2012 financial year.
