Areva taking out PDN/SMM makes a lot of sense and was started when Areva bought 10% of SMM a few years ago, at about $6/share, but to move in this direction now would require Areva to be absolutely sure the Newman government can be contractually bound to uranium mining.
Note too that PDN are to supply the French government with product, making a takeover by Areva more likely.
Otherwise why would Areva retain their interest in SMM?
