Well, as time passes it looks like the DLS announcement is not 'the' announcement. If they were the negotiating party (as implied in the trading halt explanation), ACN would have responded shortly afterwards you would think.
Why would DLS bother? Maybe they are assuming a script offer from a rival. In that case, if the share price of the unknown company falls (along with ACN's implied value), their 28.5 cent bid may come into play. Otherwise, it seems silly. No one can accept their offer (trading halt) and there are already significant overbids.
Got to say, DLS sure hamstrung themselves with the approach they have taken.
