Could they be off-market transfers? (eg. changing from individual name into SMSF/trust). Although I wouldn't have thought off-market transfers would be included in the daily volume amount as report by the ASX as the transaction does not have to go through them.
But then again if it was a simple non-arms length transfer I couldn't see the point off staggering the transfers it would be easy just to do it in one bulk lot.
