For asf, I have seen situations where there have been takeover offers and there have been separate offers for the options. In all such cases, options were reasonably priced in relation to the market. I recall one instance when I thought the offer for the options seemed over-generous.

Unfortunately, I can't recall which companies were involved to be able to do some research into such offers. I guess, though, that there is no hard and fast rule and that any offer for the options would depend on the bidder's circumstances and intentions.
