re: Ann: Specimen Reef RC Drilling Results, D...
The whole Junior market has that early 2010 feel to it IMO Everyone is shy, as we all got burned in 2011, especially the late comers to the bull run.
I am starting to change my style, carrying a lot less stocks, accumulating on a core of about 6 main stories, with another 6 second level. I keep a few with Rocket potential that I use to feed the core stocks when they go the right way. and right them off when they go the wrong way.
We all know that most Spec's never amount to anything - but it is not difficult to short list a lot that have excellent prospects, reducing the risk and gaining exposure to some serious upside. The hardest part is short-listing the short list and sticking to your rules and research. That is when it is good to have some mentors who have been in the sector for a decade or more.
After reading Locantro's Life for a year, and following alot of his earlier work, I started to gain more confidence to build larger positions in the speculative end of the market.
As I posted before - the man picked RMS NST IGR, now ORS is his top pick for the Gold sector, shortlisted out of 968 odd companies.
Of course it is up to the drill bit and the management and the POG at the end of the day.
These things take time, I am in a Zinc play that had "imminent production" in 2007. I think the ongoing GFC has provided another great chance to get set in some great resource sector stories, but you need to be prepared to go long and accumulate when the market is not interested.
