Anyone seen the press releases that WHO has been issuing this week? http://www.voanews.com/english/news/health/WHO-Warns-Against-Use-Of-Blood-Tests-For-Active-Tuberculosis-125892198.html If you know what you are looking for you will realise that although they say "blood tests for TB are a waste of money and could be dangerous" they are not talking about the Cellestis test at all. But you have to really read the detail to see that they are complaining against the serology (antibody) tests. However, I wonder if the ambiguity in the WHO announcement is deliberate as they are unhappy that IGRAs are being sold in the developing world for active disease? I believe there will be a negative announcement about the user of IGRAs in this situation next week. Maybe we are lucky the deal will be done by then. The last thing you need is a negative WHO report.
