bandwagon, machine mining IS airleg mining! Mechanised mining is the term generally applied to electric/hydraulic drills & diesel LHD/trucks. Sorry to correct you but I'm sure there would be a few machine miners out there who would appreciation the clarification. For the numbers people - machine mining (airlegging) production will cost above twice the price of mechanised production. Less capital but higher opex & less dilution. It's a trade-off. Depends also of course on orebody morphology, suitablility & method.
