Firstly I must apologise--i gave the wrong impression in a previous post i am not a school teacher,i was referring to continual education throughout life.I am and have been a process engineer on an ammonia production facility for 30yrs and as such have an intimate understanding of catalytic reactions.That is what has happened in the nuclear facilities in Japan-did you read the article i posted? The containment shells in a reactor are made from 150mm thick stainless steel.And what is one of the components of stainless steel?Yes nickel-and a nickel based catalyst is what is used to reform not crack water in the first stages of ammonia production to separate hydrogen from oxygen---it's called the Haber process(have a look)
