Temperature and pressure are strange bed fellows rowser-there are many chemical processes where water is reformed to its basic elements-one of these is ammonia production where approx 50% of the steam(water)that is injected at high temps and pressures at the beginning of the process is reformed to become hydrogen and oxygen.Another is underground coal gasification(UCG) where similar reactions occur.The water in question is under pressure otherwise it would boil off and become steam at 100 Degrees C. By the way i did pay attention at school and have ever since--it's my job.
