re: Ann: NEC Directors' Recommendation on... Have skimmed through a bit of this thread. In short, the U bid at 184.5 and/or 185 was most likely NHC buying on market as they said they would and are permitted to. U bids used to be quite common a few years back but I think there are now tighter restriction on there usage.
Anyone short the stock ie anyone who was smart enough to short at $2 (or dumb enough to short at $1.70) may now be covering their short at $1.855. If NHC is soaking up the stock at $1.85 you might need to pay $1.855 to cover.
No position now as I have already accepted and sold a handful at $2
