Map 1 = Exploration permit for WAL EPC 1069 and also highlights the coal resource area and inferred area for coal resources. Which is where i have outlined in red to help show the area. Otherwise the area is marked by the light green lines that form the boundaries of tenements and are shaded by these lines. You are right in saying that most of this area forms apart of BHP's operations, mainly being open cut production.
Also you mentioned that The red lines show the approximate limits of economic opencut resources for the Moranbah Coal Measures, these are only approximate what is to say that there are not resources outside this infered area. I agree that the geological formations are different in WAL's tenement area to BHP's tenure. But I can find no information that shows previous drilling in the area and all the maps show drilling was done to the east of the open pit operations.
So the area is under explored IMO, Also i have seen several instances where large companies regulary give up tenure in order to focus on other tenements or projects. Or mistakes are made and these licenses are lost, just because BHP did not explore or apply for the area does not mean that their is nothing to be discovered. I dont believe you can apply that kind of logic hear because if this was applied to all the explores boardering on the majors door steps then many large deposits would be missed.
You obviously have some understanding of the geology and the structure of the resource that occurs in the area. I was not trying to state that we have a resource similar to BHP or that it is even apart of the same structure. I also noticed that you where very skeptical on the CLR thread as well. Do you have a holding in either of these companies? if not why do you have such an intrest? As i am not sure what your intrest is here.
