gda should follow the lead of sbm (st barbara mines), who consolidated their shares. the justification for the sbm consolidation, was that the charter of potential international institutional investors, precludes them investing in companies, which have share price of less than $1.
this is the obvious reason, why the share price is languishing. the share price is too reliant on the whims of a few school kids, trading with their lunch money.
a share consolidation, will have large super funds; pension funds; institutional investors etc - all take positions take positions.
a consolidation will reduce the number of shares on issue - to just a few million - which will make them more scarce than dodo eggs - thus creating a buyers market, as there will be a scramble for the stock
