Goldies can be great or really lousy.

CRK is difficult to understand, or perhaps I have not been reading the smoke signals correctly (ie the price trend).

Goldies in an uptrend are mostly in west Africa, but also in Asia (eg MML, KCN, IAU, ROL) and only a few in Australia (SLR has been the best, but MCO and now IGR have done well over the last 18 months). AXM is at death's door while AAM is struggling. Goldies in other regions such as OGC and AND have done great.

There are lots of hyped duds. I wish I knew what CRK really is. As I said before, I am consoled by the thought that Freedman has bought many CRK shares at far higher prices than me and will lose a lot of money if this is a dud.

But I find this price trend serious. Some people have had enough and are getting out. This does not seem like price manipulation to take over CRK by a major producer. They cannot take it over without meeting the price of the Carr family or Freedman. People are accepting major haircuts on their CRK shares to exit.

I have taken note of your comment about goldies whose names start with C, and I will avoid them in the future. Overall I have done OK on goldies, but there have been losers and major disappointments.

    Good luck.
