I cant see how this election is favouring the likes of CO2. The current freeze on forestry investments due to the lack of a CPRS and no pathway to voluntary markets is damaging to the industry. The lack of clarity for post 2012 Kyoto markets is stifling investments in CDM projects. Lack of political will in the US is holding back investments.
Changes tot he calculation methods under the CPRS through a revision of NCAS and NCAT may take the gloss off the sequestration predictions of CO2.
the future seems to be in biomass to energy. Perhaps COz can reshape their plans to harvest the mallees for bio fuels. It is a tough gig in this market and the politicians are not helping us at all. How can the government put so much money into clean coal and carbon capture and storage which is unproven and very expensive. We have carbon capture and storage, it is called a tree.
