I figure it's just a statement to say-keep it clean boys-WE"RE WATCHING YOU- Lets FORGET THE SPECULATION -haven't you in early summer when the fruits a bit green, gone out and shaken the fruit tree to see if there are any early ripe fruit ready to fall off.I have. I consider Alinta's actions to date, just that.Shake the tree, someone may pay over what we value our plant/business for.If so,good that goes someway towards solving a problem. It's also saying-If you don't grab what you want now, someone else may.If not you say - look banks -they reckon we're only worth so much-so what do you want to do.We're still paying our bills and reducing debt and will do so for the next two years, so your stuck for another two years. If you want out - what deal can we do? BBI did - will others come to the party - or have to wait till our loans are up and Alinta management throws their hands up in two years and starts negotiating real hard like with BBI.Common sense says lets accept reality and if they want out they have to give something.Enough to make the company rateable would be good. In the meantime Alinta chugs on and the accounts get better and the value of the business and its parts continue to rise both for us and any competitor/purchaser. Give it another year and the business or bits will probably rise in value say 5%.5% of 2.7Billion is around $135M.Not to be sneezed at-just like buying rental houses (that pay their own mortgages from rent)when demand rises on $1000 down(and you get to make multiples on your investment, the only trouble being its not cash or taxable yet).Does power demand rise i wonder?A bit of a no brainer really.Bit like do more people need houses.OOPS and they use power too don't they. Just maybe i'm dreaming here and someone in the ACCC has a few Alinta shares and so does their mum (life savings)and maybe thinking a nice little statement like this will deter false media placement of stories. There must be a truckload of people like this(mum and dad with their lifesavings tied up)hanging on in hope. How marginal is the Western Australia electorate for the government.Them old grannies vote and if they feel robbed as they probably do having already having bought their own power company back from the state govt some time ago and being taken over and shafted by all and sundry in the name of a few bucks.
they(ACCC) may even read this blog-heaven help them.
My thoughts and ranting are my own like where i put my money-follow like a sheep and you will surely be shorn
