From memory, Wattyl was put in an unviable position when its takeover of Taubmans was knocked back by the ACCC quite a few years back. Taubmans was subsequently bought by a South African company. Australian government instrumentalities seem hell-bent on dismantling Australian industry and selling it to overseas interests.
