We dont know how many shares are going to AWE "friends". AWE can't buy higher than 40c but their "friends" could.
Also dont count on the directors for full support. They may have " executive positions" with AWE also. These positions may be worth more than their actual shareholding profits at a higher price.
At times like this it is good to remember "In god we trust. All others pay cash".
