It may also be that AOE and Shell knows that they are facing an uphill battle in trying to convince retail shareholders to vote yes for the T/O, and as such, they may have some instos buying and then selling to them at a later stage.

And don't forget that, IMHO, unless they will reach 90% of the total shares in the register, they cannot enforce a compulsory acquisition either. That to me spells out that if they succeed in taking less than 90% they will have to run AOE as a total separate entity than Shell. I don't think that Shell will be happy with that.

If in any event Shell would walk out from the deal, Yes we may suffer a drop in the sp. And I repeat "MAY. NOT WE WILL". Simply because the bottom value of the share has been set by the T/O amount. And, even if we were to suffer a drop in price, that will only be a temporary situation, because AOE has plenty of gas in reserves and we will come out on top before too long again.

    a) Because we have plenty of gas reserves that other majors would like their finger on to it, and

    b) Because if we were to go ahead by ourselves, I have no doubt that AOE will become a huge venture at some stage or another, and we will all be benefiting from it in the longer term.

I have no doubt that Management is following these threads. And IMHO, the more we show that we are against it, the better the chance of getting it revised.

    Please DYOR.
